Diamonds in The RUFF 2014

On Saturday, September 27, 2014, Transformations will be hosting its 6th annual conference focusing on at-risk teen girls in the metropolitan Detroit area entitled “Diamonds In The RUFF, Helping Girls Discover Their True Worth”. The purpose of this conference is to equip these young ladies with tools needed to navigate life’s challenges by providing educational workshops and entertainment to address the challenges they face on a daily basis. This event will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Detroit Recovery Project, 1145 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit, Michigan  48208. We are expecting approximately 200 participants and lunch will be provided.

The founder of Transformation Inc., Mrs. Lanetia Norris, LMSW knows first hand the issues that plague Detroit’s youth through her own challenges growing up in the city of Detroit. Having personally been knocked down by life’s circumstances and having the courage and ability to get back up has been her strong suit. Sharing her story with others has been her crowning achievement because it inspires her audience to believe that change is possible, if only they dare to believe. Out of this strong belief and conviction, Mrs. Norris created the “Diamonds in The RUFF” conference. This will be a fun filled, educational afternoon devoted to addressing the issues most affecting our young girls in today’s society. Every teen that attends will receive a gift bag and other give-a-ways. There will also be an award ceremony for one deserving teen who has shown resilience and perseverance through difficult times. This teen will receive the “Diamonds in The RUFF” Award. The Hearing Impaired and LGBTQ communities are welcome. An interpreter will be on site for the hearing impaired.
